Home / Our story
Family owned and operated since 1913
It began in the early part of the last century, when Grandpa Varus Kardashian collected garbage to recycle as feed for the stock on his hog farm. Through the years his small enterprise grew into the company it is today: forward-looking, and firmly rooted in old-fashioned professionalism and customer service.

The flag over the 10
In 1974, founder Sam Kardashian, son of Armenian immigrants, wanted to declare his love for his country in a big way: the largest flag in the West, flown from a specially built 100-foot tower. It went up on August 21, 1974, and drivers on the 10 have looked for it ever since.
